Resource Generation is so excited to kick off Making Money Make Change with a pre-retreat for young people of color with wealth who believe in social change!

All too often conversations about wealth, social change, giving, or entrepreneurship in communities of color happen along strict identity lines. While identity based affinity groups are vital part of the work, we know that we can have more dynamic conversations about making and manifesting change, building assets, or moving resources when we bring all of our perspectives to the table. There is so much opportunity for people of color in this work! Come join Resource Generation as we open up space for a dynamic conversation.

During our half- day pre-conference participants will:

  • Build relationships with young people of color with wealth from around the country
  •  Learn more about RG's network and programming for people of color with wealth
  •  Explore and envision the potential impact of a diverse community of young people of color with wealth and privilege working for social change

Let’s start a candid conversation about the intersection of wealth and race!

The pre-conference will be held November 2nd - 3rd 2011 at the Pearlstone Retreat Center. We will open on November 2nd with an evening dinner for participants and conclude before Registration at MMMC on the 3rd.  Although the pre-conference is optional, we highly encourage MMMC participants of color to attend. For more information on the pre-conference, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

So come and join us, and let’s get the conversation flowing!!

*RG recognizes the diversity within communities of color. The pre-conference will host participants from a wide array of racial and ethic backgrounds as well as experiences within the realm of philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, and movements for change. Though participants’ experiences are unique and varied, they are united in a common interest in using resources in support of progressive social change.
